Vital Vitamins: The Key to Good Health
Good health is the key to living a long, happy life. But what many people don’t understand is that vitamins play a major role in achieving and maintaining good health. Vitamins are essential nutrients that your body requires to function properly. From the development of hormones and enzymes, to repairing tissue and forming blood cells, your body relies on vitamins for optimal health.

Vitamins come from two main sources; food and supplements. Eating a balanced diet packed with lean proteins, fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and healthy fats will provide your body with all the essential vitamins it needs for optimal functioning. However, if you’re unable to get these from dietary sources alone then taking vitamin supplements can help bridge the gap and ensure you hit your daily targets for each vitamin type.

There are two types of vitamins: fat-soluble (A, D, E & K) and water-soluble (B & C). Fat-soluble vitamins dissolve in fat solvents before entering the bloodstream and can be stored in your liver or fatty tissues for later use if your body doesn’t need them immediately. Water-soluble vitamins do not store as well as fat-soluble ones but they still play an integral part in keeping us healthy by helping our bodies absorb other nutrients like carbohydrates, proteins or minerals more effectively while aiding metabolism, energy production and cell protection.

Vitamin A helps maintain healthy skin cells, strong bones and teeth as well as producing antibodies which protect us against illness. Vitamin B assists with efficient energy production as well as brain development while also playing a role in maintaining heart health by lowering homocysteine levels which have been linked to cardiovascular disease risk factors such as high cholesterol levels or atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). Vitamin C boosts immunity by stimulating white blood cell activity while also being involved in collagen formation which keeps skin looking young and healthy. Vitamin D supports bone growth as it helps absorb calcium while also aiding in joint mobility by reducing inflammation caused by arthritis or other joint pain related ailments. And finally Vitamin E helps promote strong vision by protecting eye cells from degenerative damage due to aging or exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the sun
