Truth Is Not on Your Team
In a time when everything feels divided, too many people are making excuses for bad behavior based on who said it. If someone they oppose says something wrong, they are outraged. If someone they support does the same thing, they stay silent or make excuses.
That is not discernment. That is bias pretending to be principle.
Discernment is not about staying neutral or being agreeable. It is about holding a clear standard and applying it to everyone. No exceptions. No excuses. It means you are willing to name wrong even when it comes from someone you like. Especially then.
Here is the truth
Wrong is wrong no matter who says it. If you think calling it out means picking a side, you have already missed the point. Truth is not loyal to your team. It does not need to win. It needs to be seen.
Here is the challenge
The next time someone you agree with says or does something that you would criticize in someone else, pause. Notice it. Name it. That moment matters more than a thousand posts about what the other side is doing wrong.
Here is the quote
“Wrong is wrong no matter who says it. If you think calling that out means picking a side, you have missed the point. Discernment is holding everyone to the same standard, especially the ones you support.”
This is not about taking shots at people. It is about being honest enough to admit that truth should never be bent for loyalty. If we do not hold our own side accountable, we are not serving truth. We are serving comfort.
Let the standard stay higher than the noise. Not just for others. For yourself.
