Too often, people dismiss women’s influence in U.S. politics because they haven’t held the presidency or because their numbers in office are smaller. That’s a shallow view of power. Authority isn’t measured by headcount, it’s measured by the weight of the role and the impact of the decisions made. Women in U.S. government have authored laws, shaped national policy, and influenced decisions of war and peace. That’s real power with real consequences. Pretending it doesn’t count is either ignorance or dishonesty. And when the only counterargument is name-calling, it’s not a debate, it’s a concession.
