A principle isn’t a principle unless it applies across the board, especially when it’s inconvenient.
Falsifiability. Epistemic responsibility. Critical thinking. These aren’t tools we get to pull out just to discredit others; they’re standards we should apply to ourselves first.
Too often, “consensus” today survives not by the strength of its evidence but by the weakness of our willingness to challenge it. We’re told to “trust the science,” but when that science becomes exempt from falsification, or when disagreement is labeled dangerous rather than discussed, it’s not truth we’re protecting, it’s ideology.
Discernment isn’t selective. It doesn’t bend to trends. And it doesn’t care which side of the aisle you’re on. Truth can handle scrutiny. Narratives can’t. Know the difference.
